Freyelli is a collection of original painted and freehand machine embroidered textile art, and beautiful homeware.

I live in Brighton with my husband and two small children. My artwork is inspired by my family life living in Brighton, the beautiful scenery along the South coast and the Sussex South Downs. My paintings start with the use of colour; I am always taking photographs becuase I will see something that inspires me, the light of the day, the changing of the seasons or how the sun reflects off the sea. I mainly work by hand painting directly onto the fabric, working with the colours I have been inspired by, then adding mono printing with real flowers and plants. I add detail into my paintings with free motion embroidery, I call it drawing with threads. I also add a little hand embroidery to create further texture to the artwork. In some paintings I leave the threads to hang free to add movement to the picture.

I studied Fashion Design at Nottingham Trent University and subsequently worked in the fashion industry for 12 years before I started my textile artwork. My time working as a fashion designer meant I travelled extensively, the plethora of cultures I had experienced have strongly influenced my current work. Through the subtle use of textile print, embroidery, embellishment and hand painted techniques, bring to life the natural beauty of the South coast and Sussex South Downs
